Hi! I’m Lara and I am excited to meet you!
I discovered the life-changing world of microblading and permanent cosmetics when I began the hunt to find an artist to do my own brows after I had plucked every last one out thanks to Christina Aguilera in the 90’s. After years of research I couldn’t find anyone who was executing microblading in a just-enough fashion. Everything felt too heavy, too dark, too bold and too artificial. I wanted to find someone who would just do a little at the first appointment as I knew I could book another appointment if I wanted to add more, but IT DIDN’T EXIST. And that is how Lara Jade Beauty began.
About Me:
I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and raised in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in a very creative and artistic home. With a mother as an interior decorator, designer, and painter and grandfather as an architect, I was surrounded by creative minds from a young age.
As a child, I remember always being the last student to submit work (specifically art work) because I would not stop until it was perfect! I carry this perfectionism with me everyday at work and aim for every procedure to be the best one yet. All of my clients can vouch for how meticulous and detail-oriented I am. Every millimetre makes a difference!
Before I became a tattoo artist, I was a full-time Behavioural Therapist for children with Autism for 5 years. It was a challenging yet unbelievably rewarding career. I taught kids basic skills that we tend to take for granted such as communication and making eye-contact.
When I stumbled upon the world of microblading on Instagram I instantly became mesmerized by the realistic results and life changing transformations. I built Lara Jade Beauty while keeping a full time job by working evenings and weekends until I became too busy to continue doing both. I loved working with the children and making positive changes to their lives, but I dreamed of turning my side-job passion into a career.
In December 2019, I decided to take a leap of faith, quit my full time job, follow my passion, and dive into the world of beauty and aesthetics with no other distractions. Three months later, I was awarded the prestigious title of Phi Academy Royal Artist; the 6th Toronto artist out of 300 at the time to be granted this high level of achievement.
Since then, I have been addicted to advancing my skills and learning from only the top artists internationally. After attending the Vegas PMU Conference in 2019 and learning about areola micropigmentation, a service to restore the nipple-areola complex for breast cancer survivors, I knew in my bones that this was my calling. I travelled to Pennsylvania to learn 3D nipple and areola micro-pigmentation and scar camouflage tattooing from Mandy Sauler at the Sauler Institute.
In March 2024 I was awarded 1st place for Areola Tattooing at the International Skin Games in Atlanta and 3rd place for powder shading brows at Browista Canada.
Microblading, permanent makeup, and medical tattooing, gave me the ability to continue helping people and change lives through art.
It's not about changing someone's appearance, it's about changing their confidence.
Being part of someone’s healing journey, and helping them feel whole, “normal” and confident again, is what drives me to wake up everyday, learn more, grow, practice, and be the best I can be, for you.
